Business Travel by Taxi in Israel 2026: Invoices, Cards & Bookings

Almaxpress Taxi
9 min read

Every business ride with Almaxpress comes with a full tax invoice by email and a fixed price agreed before departure: Jerusalem to Tel Aviv from ₪370 by day, Jerusalem to Ben Gurion Airport from ₪290 and Jerusalem to Herzliya from ₪430, according to the official 2026 meter tariff. Companies can pay by any major credit card, charged in advance by phone or payment link, and receive one consolidated tax invoice a month instead of a folder of receipts.

A fixed price in advance, not a meter running in traffic

In Israel the meter is mandatory on a street-hailed taxi, and it bills distance and time simultaneously — a jam on Highway 1 keeps adding to the fare while the car stands still. A pre-booked intercity ride is priced by the same government tariff, but the price is fixed in advance for that date and time, and traffic does not change it.

Under the tariff in force since 1 April 2026, Tariff A (daytime) applies Sunday to Thursday 06:00–21:00 and on Friday until 16:00. Tariff B (night) makes an intercity trip roughly 14% more expensive, Tariff C (Shabbat and holiday nights) roughly 28%. The ₪5.78 pre-booking surcharge is included in every "from" price below, as is the ₪5 surcharge when a ride starts at Ben Gurion; there is no luggage or per-passenger surcharge, and only road tolls — Highway 6, about ₪20 — are added at cost. The arithmetic is in our 2026 taxi meter tariff guide. Almaxpress is Jerusalem-based, has operated since 2015, and runs intercity transfers 24/6 — Sunday to Friday, with no service on Shabbat or Jewish holidays.

A tax invoice for every ride — and one a month for companies

A full tax invoice is issued for every ride and sent by email. For a one-off trip, forward it to the finance team and the job is done.

Companies that book regularly can switch to a monthly consolidated tax invoice: the month's transfers arrive on one document, easier to reconcile and to push through approval. We need the company name for the invoice and the email address it goes to; a visiting guest never touches the paperwork.

How to pay: company card, cash, transfer or payment app

  • Credit card: all major cards accepted, charged in advance by phone or payment link, so the passenger carries no cash.
  • Cash: paid to the driver in shekels, if that suits the passenger better.
  • Bank transfer or payment app: by arrangement — the natural fit for a monthly account.
  • Deposit: may be requested for large vehicles or long trips.

Tipping is not obligatory in Israel; rounding up is a common courtesy. Payment and cancellation conditions are on our terms page.

Business routes and 2026 prices

Prices below are for a regular taxi carrying up to 4 passengers with up to 3 large suitcases: "from" prices by the official 2026 meter tariff, booking fee included, final price confirmed at booking. Drive times exclude traffic.

Route Distance Drive time Tariff A (day) from Tariff B (night) from
Jerusalem → Tel Aviv67 km~64 min₪370₪420
Tel Aviv → Jerusalem68 km~64 min₪380₪430
Jerusalem → Herzliya (Herzliya Pituach)80 km~66 min₪430₪480
Jerusalem → Ben Gurion Airport54 km~48 min₪290₪330
Ben Gurion Airport → Jerusalem54 km~50 min₪300₪340
Tel Aviv → Ben Gurion Airport26 km~29 min₪150₪170

A route in reverse costs the same as the direction listed unless a separate row exists — airport departures differ because leaving Ben Gurion carries the ₪5 surcharge. Dedicated pages: taxi from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv, taxi from Jerusalem to Herzliya and taxi from Jerusalem to Ben Gurion Airport; the rest of the country is on the 2026 price list. Towns not listed — Kfar Saba, Rehovot, Caesarea — are priced by the official meter tariff; get an instant price in the calculator. The service is intercity only: no short hops inside Jerusalem or Beit Shemesh.

Planning a meeting day: when to leave

Jerusalem to Tel Aviv is 67 km on Highway 1 and about 64 minutes without traffic; in rush hour, add 15–20 minutes. For a 10:00 meeting that puts the pickup at roughly 08:15–08:30. Herzliya Pituach, the business district in the Sharon region north of Tel Aviv, needs the same allowance on top of its 66 minutes.

Flights: the four-hour rule from Jerusalem

Plan to be at Ben Gurion about 3 hours before an international departure. From Jerusalem that means leaving roughly 4 hours before take-off — 54 km, around 48 minutes, plus a buffer. A 06:00 flight therefore means a pickup in Jerusalem at about 02:00, which falls under Tariff B, from ₪330.

Late finishes and the tariff clock

Tariff B starts at 21:01 Sunday to Thursday, and on Thursday Tariff C takes over from 23:01. On Friday, Tariff A ends at 16:00 and we stop driving at candle-lighting. A late dinner in Tel Aviv still gets a passenger home to Jerusalem, at Tariff B from ₪430 rather than the daytime ₪380 — but book the return for a realistic hour, since the agreed price follows the pickup time.

On the road: regular taxi, VIP Mercedes or a vehicle for the team

A regular taxi seats up to 4 passengers and takes up to 3 large suitcases, with carry-ons at the driver's discretion. For clients and senior management, a Mercedes S-Class or V-Class can be arranged on request; see the VIP taxi page. VIP vehicles are quoted individually.

For a conference or a delegation arriving on one flight, a larger vehicle keeps everyone and their luggage together: a 6-seat large taxi takes roughly 6–8 suitcases, a 10-seat van about 10–12, and a 19-seat minibus 19 and more with a luggage hold or trailer. Book a 6-seat large taxi, 10-seat van or 19-seat minibus through our large taxi page — we confirm the price within minutes. Mention strollers, folding wheelchairs or sports gear at booking, so the right vehicle is sent.

Standing arrangements: staff, commuters and visiting guests

Travel that repeats need not be organised from scratch each time — a manager who flies out of Ben Gurion every second Sunday, or a consultant splitting the week between Jerusalem and a client in Herzliya. Each ride still has its price agreed before departure and lands on the month's consolidated invoice.

Visiting guests: pickup with a name sign

The driver waits in the Terminal 3 arrivals hall holding a sign with the guest's name. We track the flight in real time, so an early or late landing is covered and a delay does not change the agreed price. Send the flight number, the name for the sign as it appears in the passport, the hotel or office address and a phone number that works on landing. Ben Gurion to Jerusalem is from ₪300 by day, and the invoice goes to your company, not the guest. More detail is in our Ben Gurion pickup guide.

Cancellations, changes and Shabbat: what the office needs to know

Meetings move. Cancellation more than 24 hours before the ride is free; between 24 and 6 hours, up to 50% may be charged; under 6 hours or a no-show, the full price. Cancel in writing — WhatsApp or email — so both sides have a record.

Almaxpress does not drive from candle-lighting on Friday until Shabbat ends on Saturday night, and the same applies on Jewish holidays: Rosh Hashanah (12–13 September 2026), Yom Kippur (21 September 2026, no service at all), Sukkot (26 September 2026), Simchat Torah (3 October 2026), Pesach (22 and 28 April 2027) and Shavuot (11 June 2027). Holiday eves follow the Friday rules; holiday days follow the Shabbat rules.

So a guest landing on Friday afternoon should be booked to reach the hotel before Shabbat begins, and a guest landing on Saturday needs a Saturday-night ride, pre-booked before Shabbat and departing after it ends. The end time shifts by season, so check that week's Havdalah time rather than assuming a fixed hour. Saturday-night rides are charged at the Shabbat tariff: Tariff B until 19:00 and Tariff C from 19:01.

How to set up a monthly arrangement

  1. Get in touch: call or WhatsApp +972-50-912-2133, email almaxpress.taxi@gmail.com, or use the contact page.
  2. Describe the pattern: routes, frequency, passengers, and whether you need a regular taxi, a VIP Mercedes or a larger vehicle.
  3. Give the billing details: company name for the invoice, the email address for the monthly invoice, and the preferred payment method.
  4. Say who books: the passengers or an office coordinator, so confirmations reach the right person.
  5. Then, per ride: the price is agreed before departure, the tax invoice follows by email, and everything is gathered at month end.
