Taxi Jerusalem to Netanya, Herzliya & Ra'anana: Prices & Times 2026

A taxi from Jerusalem to Netanya costs from ₪510 by day — about 97 km and roughly 78 minutes; Jerusalem to Herzliya is from ₪430 (80 km, about 66 minutes) and Jerusalem to Ra'anana from ₪420 (78 km, about 65 minutes), for a regular taxi carrying up to 4 passengers under the official 2026 meter tariff. The same pre-booked, door-to-door ride runs from Ben Gurion Airport too: Netanya from ₪290, Herzliya from ₪190. Below: the full Sharon table, the meter breakdown behind it, and what changes at night and around Shabbat.

Jerusalem to the Sharon: prices and times at a glance (2026)

Netanya, Herzliya and Ra'anana sit in the Sharon, north of Tel Aviv — each a single highway run from Jerusalem. "From" prices cover a regular taxi at daytime Tariff A, include the ₪5.78 pre-booking fee and are rounded down; the final price is confirmed at booking, and drive times assume no heavy traffic.

Route Distance Drive time Tariff A (day) from Tariff B (night) from Tariff C (Shabbat/holiday night) from
Jerusalem → Netanya97 km~78 min₪510₪580₪650
Jerusalem → Herzliya80 km~66 min₪430₪480₪540
Jerusalem → Ra'anana78 km~65 min₪420₪470₪530
Ben Gurion Airport → Netanya53 km~46 min₪290₪320₪360
Ben Gurion Airport → Herzliya35 km~32 min₪190₪220₪240

The reverse direction — back to Jerusalem — is the same distance and time, so it starts from the same price. Dedicated pages: Jerusalem to Herzliya, Jerusalem to Ra'anana and Herzliya to Jerusalem. Every other route sits on our 2026 price list.

Who takes a taxi from Jerusalem to the Sharon — and why

Business travellers heading to Herzliya Pituach

Herzliya Pituach is Herzliya's business and hi-tech district, with the marina beside it. A pre-booked taxi gets you there at a price fixed in advance — the official meter tariff for that date and time, unchanged by traffic or detours — with a tax invoice by email after every ride and, for companies, a monthly consolidated one (see our business travel guide and our post on the Jerusalem–Herzliya run).

Beach trips and family travel

For travellers splitting a trip between Jerusalem and the coast, the Netanya beaches are the draw, and the hotel-to-hotel move takes about 78 minutes with the luggage riding along: up to 4 passengers and 3 large suitcases in a regular taxi, with no luggage surcharge — that charge and the per-passenger one were abolished in 2020. Child seats and boosters are free when requested in advance; mention strollers, folding wheelchairs or sports gear at booking so we send the right vehicle.

The drive: route, tolls and realistic timing

Every Sharon trip starts down Highway 1 towards the coastal plain. From there the driver takes whichever is faster that hour: north on Highway 6, a toll road (about ₪20, passed on at cost only if used), or through the Tel Aviv area on Highway 2/4. Netanya lies 17–19 km beyond Herzliya and Ra'anana, which is why it costs roughly ₪80–90 more by day.

The meter bills distance and time together — not whichever is greater — so a jam raises a street-hailed fare, while a pre-booked Almaxpress ride is priced in advance and the agreed price stands. Allow 15–20 extra minutes in rush hour anyway.

From Ben Gurion Airport to Netanya and Herzliya

Ben Gurion to Netanya (53 km, about 46 minutes) starts from ₪290 by day, ₪320 at night and ₪360 on Shabbat and holiday nights; Ben Gurion to Herzliya (35 km, about 32 minutes) from ₪190, ₪220 and ₪240. Leaving the airport carries the official ₪5 departure surcharge, already inside the quote we send.

Give us your flight number and the driver waits in the Terminal 3 arrivals hall holding a sign with your name. We track the flight in real time, so a late or early landing still finds the driver there, and a delay does not change the price — see our taxi from Ben Gurion page. Flying out, plan to be at the terminal about three hours before an international departure.

Kfar Saba, Hod Hasharon and the rest of the Sharon

Kfar Saba, Hod Hasharon and the towns around them are served from Jerusalem and from Ben Gurion in the same way, but they have no row in our fixed table, so we print no number: those rides are priced by the official meter tariff for the distance, time and tariff window — get an instant price in the calculator above. All of it is intercity taxi service; we do not run rides inside Jerusalem city limits.

How the 2026 meter tariff builds the price

The government-set tariff in force since 1 April 2026 — 2.8% below the 2025 rates, next update expected 1 April 2027 — has three rate cards. At daytime Tariff A the meter starts at ₪12.46, charges ₪1.95 per km for the first 10 km and ₪3.79 beyond, and adds ₪1.95 per minute throughout; a pre-booked ride carries a ₪5.78 booking fee. Jerusalem → Herzliya: ₪12.46 + 10 × ₪1.95 + 70 × ₪3.79 + 66 × ₪1.95 + ₪5.78 = about ₪431.74, rounded down to "from ₪430".

Tariff B (night) raises the per-minute and first-10-km rates by 20% and the rate beyond 10 km by about 10%, so an intercity trip costs roughly 14% more: Netanya from ₪580, Herzliya ₪480, Ra'anana ₪470. Tariff C (Shabbat and holiday nights) raises them by 40% and about 21%, so roughly 28% more: Netanya from ₪650, Herzliya ₪540, Ra'anana ₪530. More examples in our 2026 meter tariff guide.

What is added — and what never is

Only three things sit on top of the meter: the ₪5.78 pre-booking surcharge, already inside every price above; the ₪5 surcharge for leaving Ben Gurion; and the Highway 6 toll of about ₪20, at cost, when the road is used. Nothing is added for suitcases or a fourth passenger.

Planning by day and time: when Tariff A, B and C apply

The tariff is time-based, and the tariff "day" runs 06:00 to 05:59 — so a 01:00 departure still belongs to the previous evening's window.

Friday travel to the Sharon

Tariff A ends at 16:00 on Friday and Tariff B runs from 16:01 to 21:00, but the practical limit is earlier: Almaxpress stops once Shabbat comes in at candle-lighting. Leave Jerusalem in the late morning and you arrive in the early afternoon, at the daytime price.

Saturday night and Jewish holidays

We operate 24 hours a day, Sunday to Friday — 24/6 — with no service on Shabbat or Jewish holidays, from candle-lighting on the eve until Shabbat or the holiday ends. A Saturday-night ride to the Sharon is pre-booked before Shabbat and departs after it ends; that end time shifts weekly and by season, so check the week's Havdalah time.

The meter treats Saturday night as part of the Shabbat tariff day, which runs to 05:59 on Sunday: a ride starting after Shabbat ends is charged Tariff B until 19:00 (Netanya from ₪580) and Tariff C from 19:01 (from ₪650). In winter, when Shabbat ends before 19:00, an 18:30 departure falls in the cheaper band; in summer it does not. Holiday eves follow the Friday windows, holiday days the Shabbat rules. The Shabbat tariff applies on Rosh Hashanah (12–13 September 2026), Sukkot (26 September 2026), Simchat Torah (3 October 2026), Pesach (22 and 28 April 2027) and Shavuot (11 June 2027); on Yom Kippur (21 September 2026) there is no service at all. More: taxi on Saturday night and Jewish holidays.

Groups, luggage, booking and payment

More than four passengers

A regular taxi takes up to 4 passengers and 3 large suitcases. A family of six or a delegation of nine travels in one vehicle instead: book a 6-seat large taxi, a 10-seat van or a 19-seat minibus on our large taxi page — we confirm the price within minutes. For space: about 6–8 suitcases in the 6-seat car, 10–12 in the van, 19 and more in the minibus.

How booking works
